Then…

In the summer of 2024, HoLs Co-Founders, Denver and Ethan were swimming at their favorite place in the Susquehanna River. They noticed significant build up of plastic waste while swimming and realized they had to do something to give back to the river that gave them so many memories. This desire to help sparked Hooked on Lancaster, a conservation initiative focused on cleaning environments and educating the youth!

Now…

Today, Hooked on Lancaster has hosted 11 local clean ups, accumulating over 1,000 pounds of trash cleaned with over 40 active volunteers. Hooked On Lancaster has reached hundreds of people and 60+ students on the importance of environmental awareness and activism. Now, we are looking to expand nationally… check out the GrabaBag page to learn how that’s happening and check out our partners which make that possible!

Meet Ethan…

Ethan is a current high school student who has also grown up on the Susquehanna his whole life. His fondest memories are the ones spent with his grandfather on their boat, where they would take trips to the sandbar and fish. Ethan's memories on the Susquehanna and his desire to cultivate more with those that he loves is what motivated him to be a co-founder of Hooked On Lancaster. Ethan is devoted to cleaning our river!

Meet Denver…

Denver is a current high school student who grew up on the Susquehanna. From catching crayfish to going on hikes, Denver's love for our river's natural beauty is what motivated him to be a co-founder of Hooked On Lancaster.
